Data Protection Regulations

On 25 May 2018 there were some changes to the data protection regulations called the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The school regards the protection of personal data relating to children and parents/carers as a very important matter.

In accordance with best practice, we have links to the updated Data Protection Policy, Freedom of Information Policy and Pupil Privacy Notice from the EPA Trust website. The Pupil Privacy notice outlines the pupil information that we collect, hold and share including the lawful basis about how we use this information.

Please click here to read these policies or, alternatively, if you would like a printed copy of any of these documents please do not hesitate to call into the school office.

West Witney Primary School & Nursery is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). Our registration reference is Z6537875.

Photograph & Data Consent

Occasionally, we may take photographs of the children at our school. We use these images as part of our school displays, school newsletters, school website and within other literature such as Early Years profiles and Assessment books.

To comply with the new GDPR laws we require parent's permission before we can photograph or make any recording of their children.

We are also required to gain your permission to send emails and text messages via third party communication tools to inform you of school events, school closures and PTA fundraising.

Please download and read the letter from school below explaining in more detail the use of photographs and data in school. All Priority 1 parents have been asked to complete a consent form which, once completed, will be kept in school for reference.

Parents have the right to change their consent options at any time by contacting the school office by email, office.2601@west-witney.oxon.sch.uk or telephone 01993 706249.
