Nursery - Ducklings Class
We have a Nursery class at West Witney Primary School called the Ducklings. Ducklings is managed by the Nursery Manager, who is supported by other qualified staff who work on different days.
NURSERY ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
Ducklings is open to children the term after they turn three, and it is worth applying early as our spaces do fill up quickly. We currently offer up to 40 places and should we be over-subscribed, admission arrangements will fall in line with Oxfordshire County Council. Please note that attending the nursery also does not guarantee a Reception school place - applications for this still need to be done via OCC.
From September 2017, families meeting certain eligibility criteria were legally entitled to a funded Early Years place of 30 hours per week. At West Witney Primary School & Nursery we have registered to offer full-time (30 hour) and part-time (15 hour) places. Your child will still be entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare, even if you are not entitled to the 30 hours.
Our 15 hour sessions run Monday to Friday from 8.30am - 11.30am. As we are a school setting your child is expected to attend every school day. We can offer top up sessions until 3.10pm for £20 per day.
Our 30 hour sessions run from 8.30am - 2.30pm. As this means your child is in school over lunchtime, you can choose to provide a packed lunch for them or order a hot school dinner, which costs £2.20 per day. We also offer the option for your child to stay until 3.10pm at a cost of £5 per day, which means that you child can enjoy a full day in the setting.
Are you eligible for 30 hour funding?
Families where both parents/carers are working (or one, if a lone parent) and earn at least the equivalent of minimum wage for 16 hours a week, but under £100,000 per year may be eligible for 30 hours. If you or your partner are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.
