Nursery Admission Arrangements

Our Nursery, Ducklings class, is open to children the term after they turn three. Application forms must be submitted to West Witney Primary School the term before they are due to start. A place within our Nursery will not guarantee a Primary place at West Witney, you will still be required to apply online with County Admissions before their January deadline. Should we be over-subscribed for places within our Nursery then our admission arrangements will fall in line with Oxfordshire County Council. Please follow the link above to OCC.

From September 2017, families meeting certain eligibility criteria are legally entitled to a funded Early Years place of 30 hours per week. At West Witney Primary School we have registered to offer 10 full-time places (30 hour) and 32 part time (15 hour) places. Your  3- 4 year old will still be entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare even if you are not entitled to the 30 hours.

Our 15 hour sessions run either every morning from 8.30am-11.30am or every afternoon from 12.30pm - 3.30pm. As we are a school setting your child is expected to attend every school day for the sessions allocated to them.

Our 30 hour sessions will run from 8.30am - 3.30pm. As this would mean your child was in school for 35 hours per week including lunch hours there are two options available to parents. You can collect your child at 11.30am and return them at 12.30pm once you have fed them or for £5 per day (paid the term in advance) they can stay in school supervised by our staff for this hour. They can bring in a packed lunch or if they would like a hot school dinner it would be an additional £2.20 per day.

Are you eligible to 30 hour funding?

Families where both parents/carers are working (or one if a lone parent) and earn at least the equivalent of minimum wage for 16 hours a week but under £100,000 per year may be eligible for 30 hours. If you, or your partner, are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.

Please be aware that the entitlement to a free place does not offer a guarantee of a place at any one provider or a particular pattern of provision.

Please click here to visit the Childcare Choices website to find out if you are eligible. To apply for a place in our Nursery please complete the below application form and return to the school office.
